I have been drawn to the elements of design in both the natural and industrial environment for as long as I can remember. In my career journey from mechanical engineering design draughtsman for the British Steel Corporation to teacher of visual arts at H.S.C. in Hamilton, Ontario, the marriage of technology and art has been a natural progression for me. Growing up in the steel town of Ebbw Vale, Wales, I learned to look beyond the grit and grime of an industrial environment to see the beauty contained within a rusting pipe and the bricks and stones of terraced housing.
I hope that when people see my art and photography, they will look at their own environment a little differently, with greater awareness of the intersection of light, texture and colour in the world around them.
